Signal 2018

Visions of growth:
the longevity of natural objects

Since 2015, we’ve been responsible for the visual identity of Signal, the festival of digital and creative culture in Prague.
Next: 100 was the subtitle for Signal 2018 – a homage to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the republic. Our concept for the festival’s visual style was the notion of organic growth coupled with a vision for the next 100 years.

We created digital structures personified as seeds, whose growing algorithms draw inspiration from natural objects that transcend human time: trees, corals, minerals, and more. While the genesis of their elementary growth phase is visible, their trajectories into the future are masked.

These natural objects will withstand the test of time and continue to flourish in the virtual world. We used advanced animation software Houdini to create and program organic animations that encapsulate the future and growth of the next century of society.
