Rays of light brought to life

Our long-standing partnership with Signal, the festival of light in Prague, provided us with the opportunity to once again create their visual identity for the 2017 event. We contemplated the festival’s informal sub-theme of a smart city which sparked our interest in the near-future concept of holograms. Our ideation encompassed people creating art with the light from the displays and the interconnectedness of a city. It culminated into a vivid concept: projecting 3D objects on a moving screen.

We captured the process using classic stop-motion techniques, creating an illusion of holographic content. To diversify the festival’s campaign, we picked several abstract stills and adjusted the moving image for videos. Check it out in the materials demonstrated after this video. This approach enabled festival-goers to see light brought to life from a very unique perspective.
